Speed ABC's

McKalie loves to sing her ABC song. Here's a speed version in the tub. She doesn't pronounce each letter, but you can tell what she's singing, that's for sure!

McKalie's Dedication

We had McKalie dedicated on Sunday at church. She looked pretty in her little dress and her pink shoes (thanks grandma!). We have a family shot but it's on the church's camera and they haven't sent it to us yet. Time flew by for me to get a chance to take more pictures.

McKalie's 1st Gymnastics Class

McKalie had her first gymnastics class tonight. They jumped on the trampoline, jumped in the pit, walked on the balance beam, did forward and backward rolls, played on the bars and rings, and some other fun stuff! She did great and I think she had a lot of fun. I'm already looking forward to next Tuesday!!! :)

18 Month Check-Up

It's hard to believe that our baby girl is already 1 1/2 years old! She's growing up wayyyyy to fast! She had her 18 month check up yesterday and she weighs 23 lbs 14 1/2 oz and is 31 1/2 inches tall. She's leveled off on the growth chart for now and is in the 40th percentile in height and weight. She did good with her shots and loved playing with the bandaids afterward. She's our little sweetie pie!

Our talking parrot

McKalie is like a talking parrot these days. You tell her something one time and she repeats it right back. It's amazing that kids can pick up things so fast. She can count to 10, but leaves out #4 and most of the time we have to say #1. She can say complex words like, dangerous, downstairs. and is putting together three and four word sentences. She now likes to say "come on, momma/daddy" and pull us to where she wants to go. She's growing up too fast. She goes next week for her 18 month appointment. I'll let you know how much she's grown!

And I had to share this new pic of her modeling her new winter boots.

A Baby = Need for more SPACE!!

We moved! I never knew a small child would require a need for so much space! We had lived in our condo since we got married and loved the condo life....no mowing, no upkeeps, etc. When McKalie came along, we changed the guest bedroom to her nursery and we quickly outgrew the condo. Baby toys take up alot of space! So, we put the condo on the market and thought it would take some time to sell in today's economy, but it sold in 30 days. We looked at several houses close by but fell in love with the first one we looked at. We have been here 2 months now and love it. McKalie is starting to adjust to her new room, loves her playroom and things are great! We still have lots of wall space to decorate but that's going to take some time. Still waiting on our dining room table! Dont look at all the clutter!

Vacation - Orange Beach, AL

We went on our annual family trip to Orange Beach, AL the last week in July. McKalie had a BLAST! She loved the sand, the ocean, the pool, the balcony at the condo.....I guess just about everything. She also loved playing with her cousin Lakin all week long. We had a great time as well. Here are a few pictures from the week.

McKalie's 15 month checkup

McKalie had her 15 month check-up today. She weighs 22 lbs. 14 oz (47th percentile) and is 30 1/2 inches tall (46th percentile). She's tapered off some on her growth. The doctor said she was such a big baby for so long that she's slowing down now.

Words: McKalie can say mama, dada, baby, bye bye, bite-bite, Dora, Boots, juice, milk, more, yes, no, shhhh, bath, night-night, lullabye, yellow, all done, peekaboo, duck duck, and maybe a few others.

Sounds: McKalie can make lots of animal sounds!!! Cow, horse, duck, rabbit (she says hop hop), snake, lion, monkey, doggie, kitty cat, and bird.

Loves to: Dance, read books, play with balls, try on shoes, watch Dora, eat, play peekaboo.

Foods: McKalie will eat just about anything except for ground beef and red spaghetti sauce. She loves fruit and veggies!!! She loves black olives!!!

Dancing Shoes!

So, McKalie's grandmother (David's mom) bought her these cute yellow shoes. She absolutely loves them. As you can see, they don't match her outfit, but she wants to wear them with everything. And she's added "yellow" to her vocabulary because of them. Anyway, here's a short clip of her dancing this weekend at grandma's.

Randoms - May 2009

In her daddy's shoes. And she loves shoes, just like he does!

At the cabin in the swing. Lakin taught her to say "shhhhhhh"!

The girls watching Dora under the covers.

She crosses her feet almost all the time! Another trait from her daddy.

She loves riding her bounce and spin zebra!

We Miss You Grams!

My mom died a year ago tomorrow.....let me start by saying how much we miss her! She was such a special lady to so many people. She was a wonderfu mom, a terrific grandmother aka "grams" and a best friend. A HUGE piece of our family is missing and we miss everyting about her. From her loving spirit and kind words to her sausage gravy and my morning snacks she brought me to work. From her playfulness with the grandbabies to her telling me that I needed to put on lipstick so I didn't look so washed out. From her getting onto me at work for locking someone in the closet to our phone calls each evening to see how each other's day was.

We are so glad that she isn't suffering any longer. It makes me so happy to know that she is in Heaven with the One we all long to live for. That one day, we will be honored to meet Him. And that she is looking down on us and watching over us. She is in a much better place than we are. Knowing that helps bring a smile to my face!

It's been a while!

Ok, so it's been a while....I've been bad at posting. We recently put our condo on the market and we've spent alot of time trying to keep it clean for showings. It's hard to do that with a one year old who wants to mess up everything the minute you put it away.

So, I'll give you an update since my last post in February! McKalie started walking when she was 13 months old and now she's all over the place. Her vocabulary is expanding...she can say mama, dada, baby, backpack (yes, from Dora!), thank you, up, no, bye bye, bite, puppy, ball (and probably some others, but can't think of them at this hour). She can growl like a lion, loves to dance, and when you ask her what Dora wears on her back, she sings the backpack song from Dora!!! Her favorite show is probably The Wonderpets. She's doing good in school (daycare). They recently moved her up into the older classroom and she has adjusted well, except for being bit by the same little girl twice! At least McKalie's not the biter but I hate that my baby girl is getting picked on. She'll learn to stand her own really soon! McKalie is such a sweet little girl and we love her so much! She loves to love on her mommy and daddy and give kisses. She's a tough little girl, bouncing right back up when she face plants from falling, trying to keep up with those quick little feet. I guess she's going to take after her daddy and his SAQ training.

Above (can't figure out how to get them below my writing) are some pictures of her birthday party, swinging at the park and just some play time at the house. Hope everyone is doing well!
